cat cafe painting workshop

PiCATso Watercolour Workshop at Southpaw Cat Cafe ROUND 2

Wednesday, April 25th 7-9pm
Instructor: Danielle Folkerts |
$40.00 per person

I could not anticipate how difficult and hilarious it would be to simply “set up” for a workshop with 10+ cats! If it fits, it truly sits. Oh a piece of paper? Sit. Oh a box that you are trying to unpack? Sit. Oh a glass of paint water? Drink. Oh a jar of paintbrushes? Spill! Oh you’re trying to talk? Let’s whack those toes! It was quite the experience! And we can’t wait to do it again!

Painting with cats? Yes please! After a sold out and successful 1st round - it's BACK!
Join local artist Danielle Folkerts for an unforgettable night of painting and cat shenanigans. Learn a variety of essential watercolour techniques, enjoy a live art demonstration, and create your own cat-work masterpiece to take home!

No experience required. All art supplies, instruction, and optional key-image(s) are included. Please note, the café will be open for you to purchase any coffee, tea or treats! Feel free to bring a print-out image of your own cat OR try your hand at capturing the “essence” of one of your cat classmates!

Bonus: Bring a printed-out image of your own cat OR have-a-go at capturing the “essence” of one of your cat classmates!

Please register to reserve your space. Spots are limited! No refunds, so please plan carefully or send a friend instead! 10+

Please note: NO physical tickets are sent out, once you have registered + paid, your name goes directly on the list. See you at the class!

Southpaw is a cat cafe in Kingston, Ontario that opened its doors in November 2016. The cafe blends the owner's love of cats and coffee with his love of boxing! Hold on, what is a cat cafe, exactly? A cat cafe is a place to enjoy a cup of coffee in the company of playful cats. Yes, you can actually pet them while you sip your mocha. Yes, you can adopt them if you'd like to. We have a small breakfast and lunch menu, as well as a number of interesting and unique dessert options, for both vegans and non-vegans.

At a given time, we typically have between 5 to 8 friendly, adoptable cats in the cafe. If you're interested in adopting, visit our partners at Kingston Animal Rescue.
