I'm DANIELLE FOLKERTS. A visual artist, art educator, avid traveller, and lover of the ocean.
When I'm not in the studio creating acrylic + watercolour paintings, or buried under a pile of wool working on textile projects, you can find me organizing + instructing creative workshops. I have a passion for art education and I love providing you with valuable opportunities to explore your own creativity.
You'll find my love of travelling and exploring this wonderful planet echoed in my artwork. From scuba diving deep in ocean - surrounded by vibrant, towering coral reefs, and alien-like creatures - to jumping into rivers, and kayaking on the west coast, I draw my inspiration from my travels. The intention behind my current body of work, ART FOR THE OCEAN, is to share the intricate beauty of the ocean, and educate communities on ocean conservation, while bringing awareness to opportunities to support our changing oceans. More coming soon.
“Even if you never have the chance to see or touch the ocean, the ocean touches you with every breath you take, every drop of water you drink, every bite you consume. Everyone, everywhere is inextricably connected to and utterly dependent upon the existence of the sea.”
